Stocks To Move Even Higher

May 7, 2015

Although the stock market is shattering records, and publically traded companies are more valuable than ever, much of Wall Street fears an upcoming “market correction." The general consensus is that September 2015 will mark the end of the Fed’s Quantitative Easing program, and the beginning of interest rate hikes (also known as the Federal Funds Rate). When Bubbles Don't Burst

April 8, 2015

On March 2, 2015 the Nasdaq Composite Index, more commonly referred to as the NASDAQ, closed above 5,000 points for the first time in fifteen years. As this occurred, Wall Street trading floors swelled with the collective anxiety of investors who had observed the same milestone during the Dot-Com era (in March 2000). Only two days after the NASDAQ eclipsed 5,000 on March 9th, the tech-oriented index began its dramatic collapse.

Celebs & Cyber Security

September 4, 2014

Apple (AAPL) found itself in hot water this week after allegations arose that its iCloud servers had been hacked. The breach targeted celebrity photo streams and ultimately resulted in nude photos of celebrities, including Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence, being leaked to the public. As has been reported, all photos were stolen directly from celebrity iCloud accounts after having been transferred from mobile devices.

Last Friday, June 6, 2014, cloud-networking company, Arista Networks (ANET), made its public debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The company’s shares were initially priced at $43. Although Cisco (CSCO), IBM, and Microsoft (MSFT) have dominated the networking market for the past two decades, Arista may finally present a credible challenge to these tech behemoths. Investors showed optimism in Arista’s future, as shares hit $59.72 in the first week of its IPO and now sit at roughly $65.

Make The Right Bets

April 30, 2014

As I reflect on my three years of investment experience, I realize that I've done many things correctly. However, I also understand I've made my share of mistakes. I'm not at all upset with the errors of my past, as they've provided me invaluable insight into how the game is played, and are part of the learning curve associated with the stock market. Although I encourage people to push their limits when learning a new activity, investing is different.
